Since writing ad copy is really just a play of words, why not use those words that will trigger or excite something inside your reader that will make him want to reaction to your ad! Intellectual or technical words on the other hand may get your point across but the effect is not the same. Therefore, as a general rule replace intellectual words with emotional words and you'll sell more because you'll trigger an emotional response.
