In my continuing effort to provide you with informative original content that
will help you to become *Killer Ad Writing Experts*, this issue will start a
4 part series entitled "An Ad Writing Campaign That Teaches You How.". This
series will walk you though a *live* Internet ad writing campaign from start to
finish.
Creating *magnetic* Internet ads and ad copy is paramount to generating income
with on-line marketing. By following an actual Ad Writing Campaign you can
learn how to create those order pulling ads and ad copy step by step using
this ad campaign example as a guide. Once you've learned the steps, you'll realize
how easy it is to create ads that make money.
Part one of this series concentrates on building the product Marketing profile
statements. *The most important part of any marketing campaign.* We will
define the most important aspects of the product used in this series. Just
remember that I'm no "Marketing Guru". If we all participate in this exercise,

"Screaming Your Headlines Can Increase Your Response"
As Internet users we are all aware of the fact that
*it is not nice* to type in *ALL CAPS*. This is considered
screaming on the net. However, if you are placing your ads
in Electronic Magazines (Ezines), then putting your ad
headlines in a *screaming format* (ALL CAPS) will draw more
attention to your ad.
Also, centering your headline within the 65-70 character space
that is allowed for most Ezine ads will help to make your
ad *stand-out* and therefore give you an additional advantage.
Sometimes just a *little* change in your headline can increase
your response rates *though the roof*.

"An Ad Writing Campaign That Teaches You How - Part 1"
Your success with on-line marketing is totally dependent upon
your ad writing techniques. It doesn't matter if you are conducting
email advertising or web page advertising, the final out-come *always*
boils down to your ability to write the *right* words.
Web page advertising requires good solid content that *pulls* your
visitors to your on-line ordering page. Great Webpage content is no more than
the careful design of your page sub-headers (or Headlines) and your
body content (or ad copy). These should all culminate with your *strong*
"Call to Action" statement.
The point I'm trying to make here is that you need good solid ad writing
knowledge to *make the sale* with your on-line product or service. Don't
dismiss the fact that Internet ad writing and web page content writing are
not synonymous. All basic ad writing rules applies to both methods of marketing.
Learn the basics of good solid ad writing and apply them to whatever method you
use to market your product on-line and you will have *half* the battle won.
I recently started an advertising campaign to promote a product that I felt
could become a good moneymaker over time. I am inviting you to take an
*insiders* look at the step by step process involved in marketing this
product. Am I a Marketing Genius? Well, I don't profess to be one but I'm
willing to take you along for the ride. Who knows! Maybe we'll learn something
along the way.
I chose a product with a MLM marketing plan that appeals to a mass market.
With the Internet growing at such a phenomenal rate, adding a product
with a good solid MLM marketing plan to market on-line over the *long haul*
is a good bet and should be added to your income streams.
Having a thorough understanding of the product/service that you are marketing
is the most important part of being able to write magnetic ads and ad copy. Miss
this step and you're doomed for failure. The Marketing profile form on my

The product that we will be utilizing in this process is a Free Internet Access

Here's how I outlined the marketing profile for this product.
The Product:
A Free Internet Access provider account that allows the user to log-on to a
state-of-art Internet access service without having to deal with annoying ads or
pay-to-surf schemes. Rewards the user with a monthly income by providing an easy
to use compensation program for signing up friends and associates.
Benefits the user by providing lifetime Internet access for free with minimum
effort. The unique 6-tier compensation plan provides a substantial monthly income
for the seasoned Internet marketer. This compensation plan will provide a monthly
income for each sign-up for as long as he continues to use the service. This unique
feature generates $60 per year per sign-up.
Provides mass appeal because everyone who wants to get on the net has to sign-up
with an Internet provider. Eliminates the work involved with similar free Internet
access programs that require either dealing with annoying ads to watch or surfing
the net to get paid.
The Target Person:
This program can be targeted to two different types of individuals. The casual
person who only wants to get *Free Internet Access* or the seasoned marketer
who is looking for a program that can generate a full-time monthly income. Since
the initial sign-up is Free for the first 30 days, each target person has the
opportunity to get the service for Free without paying the $15 monthly fee. This
person can be found in all the usual Internet Marketing arenas.
Our marketing profile is complete. This information was complied by using the
marketing profile form that I mentioned earlier and studying the VirtuallyFreeInternet
program web page located at:

The marketing profile information is invaluable if you want to create magnetic ads,
ad copy and web page content for your product or service. With this profile *in hand*
we have the information necessary to create an effective advertising campaign. Here
are the questions that we answered with our marketing profile:
What is it?
What does it do?
How can anyone benefit from using it?
What problems does it solve?
Why would anyone want to purchase it?
Who is the specific person who would be interested in it?
Why would this person be interested?
Where does this person hangout?
What specific problems does this product solve for this person?
Is the price right for this person?
In addition to the marketing profile information, I also went to the Web to find out
how many people were looking for this type of product. Goto.com has a Search
Terms Suggestion form that you can use to find out how many searches were entered
into their search engine for specific search terms. Here's the URL:

I entered the search phrase *free internet access*. The results revealed that
13593 searches had been made on this search phrase since December. This proves
that people are interested in this type of product.
The next phase of our marketing campaign will involved using the marketing
profile to build a product benefits list. We will *draw out* the emotional benefits
of this product for our target market. We will use this list to help us develop
the ad headlines and copy that we will need to advertise this product. I will be
continuing this series in the next issue so *stay tuned*. Your comments about this

Comments:
Good headline. However, headline is a little too general in nature. Should
be targeted more towards "Web Site Promotion" person. Example:
"Has Your Website Traffic Come to a Standstill?"
First line of copy contains benefits to the reader.
Ad is missing another *strong* "What's in this for me?" benefit statement.
Maybe you should Offer something "Free" to help entice a higher response.

Comments:
Headline is targeted towards homeowners. "Breathtaking Photography" sparks
the emotions with a mental picture. Enhance this mental picture by adding a
personal touch for the targeted reader. Example:
"Breathtaking Photography To Beautify Your Home"
This ad could also use some type of "Free Offer" for responding.
Maybe you should include a "special discount for Limited Time Only" offer.

Ad#3 - Overall Rating 22.0 (Almost A Killer Ad)
Comments:
This is a great ad. The headline caught my attention with the "FREE DOWNLOAD".
The words "Learn" and "How To" are magnetic words. Great in headlines.
The first line of the copy ask the right question and directly tie into the
headline. Good use of Power words with a strong call to action. However, watch
your spelling. The word "SUCESS" is a "Bo Bo".
